Shortlisted filmmakers notified for 2026 Adelaide Independent Film Festival

The Adelaide Independent Film Festival has notified all filmmakers whose films have been shortlisted for its 2026 Official Selection.
This year, the festival received more than 300 submissions from local, national and international filmmakers, reflecting the festival's growing reputation as a platform for independent cinema.
To assist with the preselection process, the festival invited three accomplished filmmakers to join the panel:
Greg Holfeld (Director, Animator & Illustrator)
Georgie Smibert (Actor, Producer & Writer - AIFF25 Official Selection - Choice)
Fletcher Turale (Director, Producer & Writer - AIFF25 Official Selection - The Line We Walk)
The 2026 Official Selection will be announced on 8 August 2026, with tickets for this year's festival going on sale the same day.
The 2026 Adelaide Independent Film Festival returns to the heritage-listed Capri Theatre and The Mercury from 3–4 October 2026, celebrating the very best in independent filmmaking.
