The Adelaide Independent Film Festival is pleased to be returning to the Capri Theatre on 19 October 2024 for an afternoon of inspiring short films from national and international filmmakers.

Jury

Julianne Pierce

Julianne Pierce is a producer, artist and writer working across disciplines including performance, visual arts and digital media.

She has worked as a Creative Producer on festivals and projects including Adelaide Festival, Adelaide Fringe and Festival2018, the arts and culture program of the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

She was Executive Producer for renowned UK artists company Blast Theory from 2007-202 and is a member of the influential computer artist group VNS MATRIX, who formed in 1991 and continue to have their work included in significant exhibitions and publications worldwide.

Carlos Manrique Clavijo

Carlos is a sound designer and filmmaker.

Carlos has worked in several award-winning productions including fiction, documentary and predominantly, animation. He has studied Sound Engineering, Philosophy, Film Production and Animation, and has worked as a tertiary education lecturer in film sound design, music and video editing in Colombia and Australia.

He's very fond of cats, toys that make weird sounds and geeky stuff like computer programming. He's passionate about questions and perception, and he's also very curious about the humanities, arts and social sciences.

Jonathan Champ

Jonathan is an early-career screenwriter developing projects across film, television, online and narrative audio. He explores themes of change, loss, identity and place.

An AFTRS graduate (Postgraduate Certificate Screen – Screenwriting, 2017), he has been a script consultant for the US-based Finish Line Script Competition in 2019 and 2020. He was a finalist in the 2020 NYC Midnight Short Screenplay Challenge and the 2023 Screenwriters Network Short Screenplay Competition for his work Writer’s Voice. The micro-doc Actual Size (2017) that he conceived and co-wrote at AFTRS was a finalist in the Made In The West Film Festival and has been screened at The Other Art Fair, and at Blacktown Arts One Night At The Museum.
